Recreational Sidemount

Why Recreational Sidemount?

If you’ve looked into technical diving, you realize that tec divers always wear more than one tank. Sidemount is an increasingly popular way to configure multiple cylinders for technical diving. You can enter the world of tec diving with the Tec Sidemount Diver course and apply what you learn to other TecRec courses. You will not only improve the skills you learned in the PADI Sidemount Course, but you learn to integrate additional stage or decompression cylinders into your sidemount diving.

You will have an additional academic session, and at least three open water dives. To enroll in the Tec Sidemount course, you must:

  • Be a Sidemount Diver

  • At least 18 years old and have a minimum of 30 logged dives

  • It’s recommended that you also have an Enriched Air Diver certification.

Equipment

In addition to the standard sidemount equipment, the Tec Sidemount diver needs two stage/decompression cylinders (40 cuft recommended for decompression cylinders) with DIN valves and DIN regulators.

Course fee: $600 plus materials.
