Weekend Dive Trip To Mermet Springs

Two Dates June 8 & 9 or August 17 & 18

Join us for a great weekend of diving in Southern Illinois at Mermet Springs. Mermet Springs is an 8-acre quarry loaded with things to see. They have the 727 airplane from the movie "U.S. Marshals", a railroad coal car, a submarine, and many other attractions. You'll see all the typical freshwater fish and if you're lucky you'll see the Paddlefish.

How to get there and where to stay:

We'll drive down on Friday and head home Sunday afternoon. Their address is 6724 N US HWY 45 Belknap, IL 62908. Camping is available at Mermet Springs or nearby and there are several hotels to choose from. Use this link for your accommodations. It is unimportant where you stay, as long as you are nearby to meet us at the park on time.

What you'll need:

Certification card, mask, snorkel, fins, boots, 7mm wetsuit, hood, gloves, BCD, regulator with octopus, computer, weights, and tanks. You can rent gear from Sea Level Diving for a special half-price weekend rate. Tank fills are available at Mermet Springs.

Classes we'll be offering:

This can be a fun diving-only trip, or you can do a specialty course or two. I recommend the Deep Diver specialty course. Mermet is one of the few dive sites in the area that has a depth of over 100 feet.  The prices below do not include the park entrance fee.
