PADI DIVEMASTER (DM) COURSE

The PADI Divemaster (DM) course is a course designed to prepare PADI Rescue Divers or equivalent to become PADI Divemasters. As a PADI Divemaster you have entered the professional levels of diving and can earn income while diving. The PADI Divemaster program provides PADI Rescue Divers with the training to act as instructional assistants to dive educators and lead certified scuba divers. If you meet the criteria then this program will give you the abilities to organize and supervise dive activities, while concentrating on working in the training environment.

 

 Through independent study, classroom sessions and practical application, candidates learn to supervise students in training, lead certified divers and conduct review programs for certified divers. To help you through the program, PADI has developed an array of learning tools such as the PADI Divemaster training manual, Diving Knowledge workbook, and Encyclopedia of Diving.

 

The PADI Divemaster program consists of:

· Formal training in supervising divers in training and certified divers

· In depth coverage of diving physics, physiology, equipments, the RDP (wheel and table), underwater environment, risk management, dive theory, business of diving, and others

· Independent study assignments.

· Practical application sessions.

· Written examination.

 

A PADI Divemaster is qualified to:

· Assist PADI Instructors with training of students

· Conduct the Discover Local Diving program

· Conduct the Scuba Review program

· Conduct the Discover Snorkeling program

· Generally supervise both training and non-training related dive activities.

 

Upon successfully completing the PADI Divemaster program, you receive a certification card and wall certificate denoting this rating. You’ll also become a member of PADI and receive benefits, including the ability to purchase professional liability insurance (which may be required to conduct some activities).

 

Entry Requirements:

· Proof of Open Water, Advanced, Rescue dive ratings

· First Aid & CPR training within the last 36 months

· Diving Medical Statement signed by a physician  and dated within the last 12 months

· Proof of at least 20 logged open water scuba dives (60 dives required for certification)

· Proof of experience in deep, night & navigation diving
